Racanelli Construction Co., Inc. has been named the general contractor for a major building project for Rubie's Costume Company, Inc. Racanelli will be constructing a pre-engineered metal building encompassing 196,000 s/f and an additional 50,000 s/f mezzanine floor. The contract is valued at $10 million.
According to Racanelli Construction marketing director and metal building specialist Carmine Martuscello, the primary liaison with Rubie's president Marc Biege, "We are constructing a state-of-the-art CECO pre-engineered building with block walls. The pre-engineered building affords many benefits, from value-engineering, customization and high functionality to energy-efficiency and faster project delivery.
"This project will entail a 40-ft. high warehouse with special flooring to accommodate an advanced guiding and stacking system, as well as state-of-the-art Cambridge heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system and lift systems." Martuscello said, "It is an exceptionally large building and site."
This will be the seventh project Racanelli has completed for Rubie's, four of which were CECO pre-engineering metal buildings, including one in Ontario, Canada.
"We enjoy a great working relationship with Rubie's - president Marc Biege, operations manager Tim Tinari, and the entire team at Rubie's," said Martuscello. "They are all wonderful people."
In addition to Martuscello, other members of the Racanelli organization involved overseeing the project include project executive Richard Racanelli and project manager Bill Walsh. Serving as architect on the project is Gary Bruno, Gary J. Bruno Architects and Tom Riley, Trac Consulting, the owner's representative.
The project has begun construction and scheduled for completion in February of next year.
