Cornerstone Group and IADC begin constsruction on El Camino Estates Phase II; Atlas Builders is general contractor, design by AWBR and Stantec

Construction has commenced on El Camino Estates Phase II, an affordable 25-unit single family rental housing project on lots located on Evergreen St., Conkey Ave., Avenues A, B and C as well as Harris and Woodford Sts. in , Monroe County. The projecet is being developed through a partnership between Rochester's Cornerstone Group, Ltd. and Ibero-American Development Corp. (IADC). These units are situated to complement the recently completed phase one of El Camino Estates and to impact the El Camino Revitalization Area, which includes the development of the Conkey/Clifford Corner Park, and playground, the soon to be completed El Camino Trail and the existing IADC investment in the neighborhood. The project consists of 15 three-bedroom units and 10 four-bedroom units. These units will be leased to families with incomes less than 50% of area median income. Amenities include a full basement, washer/dryer hookup, security system, new appliances, air conditioning, carpeting, window treatments, porch, driveway, and off street parking and outdoor play space. Atlas Builders is the general contractor. The project was designed by SWBR Architects and Stantec while Landsman Real Estate Services will manage the property in conjunction with IADC. The project is being financed by partners including NYS Division of Homes and Community Renewal (federal low income housing tax credits and federal stimulus funds), the city, Richman Capital Group, developer equity and the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership. Rochester's Cornerstone Group, Ltd., based in Rochester, NY, has a special focus on affordable housing. Its mission is the creation and management of affordable housing for families, the elderly and special needs households in New York State. Ibero-American Development Corporation, a non-profit company affiliated with the Ibero-American Action League, works to increase the affordable housing opportunities and expand the social and business services available to the Latino community and others.
