Premature birth is the most serious infant health problem in the United States today. It affects more than half a million babies nationwide each year, over 30,000 babies are born prematurely each year in New York State. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reversing this trend by funding research to find the causes of premature birth and providing comfort and information to families.
Funds raised by this event help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, advocacy efforts and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs, like the one at Stony Brook University Medical Center, for stronger, healthier babies. This year's tournament goal is to raise $150,000. You can help the March of Dimes continue its mission to give every baby a healthy start.
