NEW YORK, The Kaufman Organization, which specializes in leasing and managing premier office space in New York City, recently brokered four new office leases in the Garment District totaling 16,971 s/f.
"Leasing momentum has continued to pick up as we enter 2012. We find clients are actively looking for new space and a number of clients we work with want to find larger offices as they continue to expand their companies in the New Year," said Michael Heaner, partner of Kaufman Org.
The Kaufman Org. signed the following deals:
* Housing Partnership Development Corp. signed a ten-year lease at 242 West 36th St. for 6,700 s/f of office space. The Housing Partnership serves as New York City's primary intermediary for the development of affordable workforce housing, facilitating partnerships between the city, state, and private sectors to build affordable homes which stimulate economic growth and revitalize neighborhoods throughout New York City's five boroughs. Michael Heaner and Grant Greenspan of Kaufman Org. represented the tenant while Barbara Raskob of Kaufman Org. represented the landlord in the transaction. The asking rent was $33 per s/f.
* Insight Strategy Advisers, LLC, a healthcare consulting firm headquartered in New York City, is moving to 450 Seventh Ave. The new 6,141 s/f office will provide a larger space for the firm and its employees. Heaner and Greenspan represented the tenant while Raskob represented the landlord in the transaction. The asking rent was $45 per s/f.
* The Brooks Group Associates, LTD, a Manhattan-based public relations agency, signed a seven-year lease at 8-10 West 37th St. for 2,600 s/f. Specializing in consumer products and promoting celebrity chefs, The Brooks Group has gained national awareness and exposure for its clients. The Brooks Group created million-dollar businesses out of niche companies such as The Hairdini Products and Curves. Heaner represented the tenant while Joseph Mangiacotti of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord in the transaction. The asking rent for the space was $35 per s/f.
* Parke & Ronen is a men's apparel fashion company created by designers Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel. The company signed a 1,530 s/f, five-year lease at 247 West 37th St. for its new showroom. Featured in major publications such as The New York Times, GQ Magazine and Vanity Fair, the company is known for its popular men's swim collection and contemporary menswear collection. Parke & Ronen is sold nationally and internationally at retailers such as Bloomingdales, Barneys and Saks Fifth Ave. Heaner and Ian Norris of Kaufman Org. represented the tenant while Matthew Mandell of Newmark represented the landlord. The asking rent for the space was $30 per s/f.
