UJA-Federation of N.Y. brought together 400 industry executives at its Real Estate and Allied Trades Division's Real Estate Executives (REX) annual gala honoring Justin Green, CEO and managing partner of HaysVentures, LLC, with the Larry A. Silverstein REX Award on April 4 at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City. The Larry A. Silverstein REX Award, named after a legendary professional for his philanthropic achievements, was created last year. This award will be presented annually to exceptional young real estate professionals like Justin H. Green, who emulate Silverstein's commitment to the real estate community and to improving the lives of others in New York, in Israel, and around the world. The recipient of this award is seen by his peers as a leader in the community who exemplifies Silverstein's inspiring standards of communal leadership, carrying the torch of philanthropy for the next generation. Over the past decade, Silverstein has proven himself deserving of this honor. Following in the footsteps of his late grandfather Meyer "Mike" Steinberg, a philanthropist largely involved with UJA-Federation and a successful real estate developer, Justin has taken a very active role in supporting UJA-Federation, our beneficiary agencies, and other philanthropic organizations. At the event, Silverstein of Silverstein Properties spoke about the importance of UJA-Federation, the REX Division, and the next generation of philanthropists before presenting the award to Green. Four hundred industry executives attended the event including the Real Estate and Allied Trades Division Chair Lloyd Goldman of BLDG Management Co., Inc.; the Real Estate and Allied Trades Division Vice Chairs Richard S. Lane of The Olnick Organization, Inc. and Andrew J. Singer of The Singer & Bassuk Organization LLC; the REX Gala Chairs William Friedland of Friedland Properties and Matthew Snyder of Fortress Investment Group LLC; and the REX Steering Committee Chair Alfonso Kimche of North Hill Capital Management LLC and Vice Chair Lee Deutsch of National Granite Title Insurance Agency, Inc.. The Real Estate Executives (REX) Division offers a wide range of opportunities to interact with leading professionals from real estate, construction, and allied trades industries, including developers, owners, financiers, attorneys, and investment strategists.
