April 23, 2012 - Brokerage
The Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable will continue its 2012 quarterly luncheon series at noon, Tuesday, May 1 with three influential figures speaking at the event. The luncheons will be held at Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont St. at Clinton Street, Brooklyn Heights. Topics and speakers for the May luncheon are:
* David Frankel, New York City Finance commissioner, will discuss the New York City budget and issues surrounding real estate taxes in the city.
* Dan Hartman, principal at ARES Management, will discuss properties he has developed in Brooklyn over the past decade and strategies for navigating the peaks and valleys of the development & financing markets.
* Michael Matrisciani, principal at Matri Holdings, LLC, will discuss the development of Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn and the impact it is having on the surrounding communities.
The Real Estate Roundtable is a quarterly luncheon series dedicated to examining, analyzing, reviewing, and predicting the critical issues in Brooklyn real estate. It's the event where the area's real estate professionals gather to discuss timely and important issues affecting the industry.
In 2011, more than 100 real estate professionals, including developers, architects, brokers, bankers, lawyers, and retailers, attended each luncheon.
The 2011 Roundtable series featured speakers such as John B. Rhea, Steven Spinola, Christine Quinn, MaryAnne Gilmartin, David Ridini, and Paul Travis, and focused on topics from condo conversion projects to the market for industrial space in Brooklyn. The Roundtable has tackled issues such as demographic changes, financing availability, transportation initiatives, hotel economics, crime and economic analysis, all with a Brooklyn focus.
Roundtable Steering Committee Co-Chairman Michael Kaye, Douglaston Development, says 2012 will be a pivotal year for Brooklyn real estate and the roundtable series:
"The 2012 Roundtable series will feature speakers who will share their varied perspectives on Brooklyn real estate, including the challenges, business opportunities and economic environment ahead. These conversations are always provocative, and networking opportunities abound. Additionally, the real estate community is really pleased to support the good work of the Brooklyn Historical Society with the fees for the series," said Mr. Kaye.
The cost is $900 for a series ticket to the remaining three luncheons or $3,000 for a corporate ticket (up to four guests) at the remaining three luncheons.
