BOMA Rochester participate in Rochester's "Clean Sweep" initiative
February 11, 2008 - Brokerage
For the second time in 2007, BOMA Rochester members took to the streets of the city and lent their time and energy by joining other organizations in the city's "Clean Sweep" initiative.
Over 500 volunteers from nearly 40 area businesses and organizations gathered at the Genesee Crossroads/Charles Carroll Park where they were given their official "Clean Sweep" t-shirts and cleanup assignments. City mayor, Robert Duffy, thanked all of the volunteers and recognized many groups, including BOMA. Armed with rakes, bags, and gloves, participants headed out for the afternoon's cleanup. Following the cleanup, everyone came back to the Genesee Crossroads/Charles Carroll Park to enjoy pizza, soda and live music!
Clean Sweep is an event initiative sponsored by the city. Last year, more than 5,000 volunteers from throughout the area took part and collected over 1,500 tons of debris.BOMA Rochester is once again proud to have been a participant in this year's events.
