The Feil Organization to begin lobby renovation at 488 Madison Avenue
April 9, 2012 - Construction Design & Engineering
The Feil Organization will begin the renovation of the building lobby and entryway at 488 Madison Ave. Construction is slated to commence this month with an estimated completion date of Labor Day. The appointed architect is Goldstein, Hill & West Architects, LLP.
"The Feil Organization is always striving to improve our buildings," said David Turino, director of leasing at The Feil Organization. "Renovations are not always driven by a new tenant or outdated look. We value our tenants and want to provide them with the very best environment that we can."
The new lobby will feature honed gray limestone with a polished white calcutta stone border. The elevators will be framed with satin-finished stainless steel. The entire lobby will feature LED lighting.
"The Feil Organization is constantly raising their own standards, taking time, energy and resources into their buildings to improve them," said Karen Asprea, director of interior design at Goldstein, Hill & West. "The new LED lighting is a prime example. LED lighting is not only beautiful, but also energy-efficient and eco-friendly, though not an inexpensive option. The Feil Organization is creating a higher standard of work environment for their tenants."
The classic 447,000 s/f building was designed in 1949 for Look Magazine by Emery Roth & Sons, and reached Landmark status in 2010. It has been owned and operated by The Feil Organization for over 30 years.
