Green Buildings
It's a new year and you know what that means - a myriad of resolutions to keep. In addition to the classics (lose weight, stop smoking, save money) here's one you should add to the top of the list: make energy efficiency a priority in your building.
If you want to save money in 2012, then making your building energy efficient is a great place to start. It's a good way to save energy and money, while increasing property values, improving your bottom-line and protecting the environment.
80% of New York City's carbon emissions come from buildings, an amount that is substantially higher than other cities. Reducing carbon emissions has intensified the focus on these properties and how to better manage energy usage.
The Con Edison Green Team Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Energy Efficiency Program can make energy savings a reality. In 2011 the program helped many of New York's iconic properties save over 114 billion kWh and 810,000 therms, while providing more than $12 million in incentives to customers. The program's incentives will continue through 2015, offering more opportunities to save.
With generous cash rebates and incentives, Con Edison Green Team's C&I program can help offset the cost for new energy saving technologies such as more efficient lighting, HVAC systems, boilers, chillers and variable frequency drives and put your building in the race toward high performance buildings.
By participating in the C&I program, you'll receive cash rebates that can reduce the cost of capital investment, and access to a network of energy efficiency contractors, distributors, and other energy professionals for help with everything from analysis to implementation.
They will also guide customers through important legislation such as the Energy Independence and Security Act, a lighting initiative which takes effect this year through 2014.
The Con Edison Green Team is here to help you develop a plan and implement the solutions that will improve building performance.
