More than 60 young professionals from the local real estate industry gathered on September 10 to attend a free walking tour hosted by the Urban Land Institute Western New York's Young Leaders Group (YLG). The tour was focused on Rocco Termini's Hotel Lafayette redevelopment project, Ellicott Commons, the Washington Market, and Oak School Lofts. The walking tour was organized to satisfy a growing demand of interest to see new developments in the downtown Buffalo corridor.
"The Urban Land Institute was very pleased to offer this tour of Signature Development's downtown projects," said David Stebbins, vice president of Buffalo Urban Development Corp., full member of Urban Land Institute and advisor for the Young Leaders Group. "It was very informative for both veteran and young real estate professionals. The breadth of Termini's reshaping of downtown was quite impressive and his comments at each stop provided a good learning experience on all of the facets of the real estate development process."
The tour brought together young working professionals from various industry-related backgrounds including law, finance, development, construction, planning and design, and strategic planning.
The next event will take place the evening of Thursday, November 10, at the Statler, and will include a personal tour of this monumental redevelopment in the heart of downtown Buffalo with project developer, Mark Croce.
