Shadow Logic works with US Energy Group's USE Controller BEMS to reduce domestic hot water temperature during nonpeak times (i.e. when tenants are at work or asleep and using minimal hot water). The Shadow Logic algorithm determines the cooling rate of the water, and signals the BEMS to keep the boiler off if the cooling rate is low, indicating less usage. Therefore, rather than work to heat the water to between 170-180 degrees all the time, Shadow Logic maximizes efficiency by only heating the water as necessary and making use of existing trends. Shadow Logic is being made available to USE Controller BEMS users at no additional cost. The software product is being included in all new installations and is being remotely updated for existing equipment in the field.
