Cushman & Wakefield leases 5,289 s/f at W&H's 112 West 34th Street

September 12, 2011 - Brokerage
According to Anthony Malkin, president of Malkin Holdings, which supervises the W&H Properties portfolio, two companies - one an owner and operator of radio and television stations, and the other, a provider of commodity trading and risk management solutions - have leased a total of 5,289 s/f at 112 West 34th St. Access.1 Communications Corp., which has radio stations in N.Y., N.J., Penn., Tex., and Louisiana, and television stations in N.J. (according to Bloomberg Business Week), leased a pre-built containing 4,176 s/f on the 14th floor, while SolArc leased 1,113 s/f on the 21st floor. The firms are moving from 11 Penn Plaza and 1370 Broadway, respectively. Ruth Colp-Haber of Wharton Property Advisors represented Access.1 in the lease negotiations. Chad Beck of Jones Lang LaSalle represented SolArc. Mitchell Arkin, Kelli Mekles and Haley Klein of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord in both the SolArc and Access.1 transactions. "There has been an increase in corporate tenants touring and moving into the building recently," said Malkin. "The transactions with Access.1 and SolArc closely follow leases with Schneider Electric, Leviton Manufacturing and Terremark Worldwide. Based on these transactions, as well as the growing interest among office users, it's clear that the repositioning of 112 West 34th St. into a state-of-the-art office tower has been a great success." "More specifically, it's clear that word has spread to brokers and tenants about the property's completed upgrade program, top- tier tenant amenities and financially strong ownership. Consequently, 112 West 34th St. is now included in broker office space tours as a matter of course," said Malkin.
