Loesch of H2M named ACEC's 2011 Engineer of the Year at luncheon

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New York named Gary Loesch, P.E., executive vice president of H2M architects + engineers (which includes Holzmacher, McLendon & Murrell, PC, H2M Labs, Inc. and H2M Associates, Inc.) as the 2011 Engineer of the Year. The award was presented to Loesch at the Awards Luncheon in conjunction with the ACEC New York's Annual Meeting at the Union League Club.
Nominees were judged on their engineering achievements; examples of leadership; and their service to ACEC New York, the engineering profession and their local community.
Loesch is an active member of ACEC New York for more than 20 years. He has held the position of president, board member and chairman of the Legislative, Environmental and Nominating Committees, and continues to serve on the Legislative, Scholarship committees and ad-hoc leadership committees. On the national level, he has chaired the ACEC Quality Management Committee, currently serves on the Risk Management and Environment & Energy Committees, served as an ACEPAC Trustee and is currently one of seven Trustees in the ACEC Business Insurance Trust.

Mr. Loesch is known for his expertise in the water and wastewater fields and oversees the firm's activities in project and risk management helping the firm achieve its revenue, profitability and development goals. He holds two degrees from Cornell University including a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Master of Engineering degree, as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from Adelphi University. He was an adjunct professor in the graduate program at Hofstra University from 2004-2007.
For nearly 20 years, Mr. Loesch has managed / coached teams in both the Sayville Little League and the Baymen Soccer League, reflecting his commitment to the children within his community. He is married (Ann Marie), has six children and two daughter-in-laws and resides in Sayville, NY.
