Gault of Perry Gault Management Co., Inc. honored by BMAR
July 25, 2011 - Brokerage
Perry Gault, president of Perry Gault Management Co., Inc. was named "Outstanding Realtor Member" of the BMAR at the organization's 76th Annual Golf & Tennis Outing at the Fresh Meadows Country Club..
Gault has been a member of BMAR for over 40 years and has been a past president and Realtor of the Year. Currently, he is chairman of RPAC and the Public Relations Committee.
Gault's real estate career began at New York University where he majored in Real Estate and was inducted in Phi Alpha Kappa, the Real Estate and Finance Honorary Society.
Gault's grandfather and father were successful realtors in the early '20s, prior to Gault joining the firm on 1955, making him the third generation of Gaults in the real estate business.
When property values began to erode in the '70s, Gault changed his focus from operating his organization as solely buying and selling residential and commercial properties to include management of foreclosed properties for savings banks and other institutions.
After graduating from college, Gault's son Jeffrey joined the organization marking the fourth generation of the Gault family in the real estate business.
Fortunately in the early 2000s his son, Jeff, and he began to believe a bubble in residential and commercial prices was developing. When the price of an asset became increasingly disconnected from its fundamental value, they believed it was time to sell. They sold a significant position of their portfolio to the major downturn in real estate values that followed. How they arrived at this decision looking back still puzzles them.
In his local community, he has been active over a period of years in numerous charities and his synagogue.
He wants to mention his late wife, Karen, for putting up with him for 60-hour weeks, midnight calls and lost weekends for over 45 years.
He is fortunate to have two other children, Clifford and Deena and six grandchildren.
As he looks back in time it's been a great ride. With God's will, there's a lot more to do and see down the road.
