In DUMBO, two record companies have signed leases with Two Trees Management. Anthology of Recorded Music was previously located in lower Manhattan and !K7 Records has expanded their German operation in the U.S. by choosing DUMBO as their desired location. Anthology of Recorded Music, Inc., recording under the label New World Records, signed a lease for 2,346 s/f at 20 Jay St. !K7 Records GMBH will establish their New York City presence at 55 Washington St. Representing the landlord for the Anthology of Recorded Music lease was Elizabeth Cottrill of Two Trees; Caroline Pardo, director of leasing for Two Trees, represented Two Trees with the !K7 Records transaction and MHP Commercial Brokerage represented the tenant. "Musicians and recording companies are drawn to DUMBO because of the immense creative culture found everywhere in the neighborhood," said Pardo. "We have artists, galleries, performance venues, and a laid-back, yet energetic work force. The locale is beautiful with Brooklyn Bridge Park steps away, the river, bridges and glorious views of Manhattan—all creating a rhythmic tempo that appeals to the music industry." Two Trees Management Co. owns most of the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO ("Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass") as well as significant properties in Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Williamsburg. The company's recent expansion into Manhattan includes commercial, retail and residential properties, including the 1.1 million square foot Enrique Norten-designed Mercedes House at 53rd Street and 11th Avenue.
