The Moinian Group has arranged a 4,000 s/f lease for the Waterkeeper Alliance at 17 Battery Place at Washington St.
"With its close proximity to New York Harbor, 17 Battery Place is the perfect location for a prestigious non-profit organization such as the Waterkeeper Alliance," said Kimia Shadrokh, director of commercial assets for The Moinian Group. "Downtown Manhattan, enriched with history and culture, is quickly becoming a popular location for many firms looking to expand their business."
Scott Galin and Peter Newman of Handler Real Estate represented the tenant, while Newmark Knight Frank brokers Robert Sattler and Adam Leshowitz represented the landlord. The Waterkeeper Alliance relocates to 17 Battery Place from the suburbs.
17 Battery Place is a 446,000 s/f, mixed-use property situated between West and Washington Streets in Lower Manhattan serving both commercial and residential usages. The property is across the street from the lush Robert F. Wagner Park and near a multitude of dining and transportation options.
Amenities at the property include newly-renovated common areas, high ceilings, a new green plaza directly in front of the building, 24/7 security and access, and unobstructed views of Manhattan Harbor. The property at 17 Battery Place is currently 96 percent leased. Current availabilities include nearly 9,200 square feet on the 13th floor. The entire fourth floor of 35,000 square feet will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011. The owner currently plans to create six pre-built spaces ranging from 3,500 to 10,000 square feet on the floor, which is currently occupied by the City of New York.
