The leasing and sales team of Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP, along with Arthur Maglio, of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group, has arranged the fourth area location for AIDS Service Center NYC (ASC) at 2036 Amsterdam Ave. The 4,500 s/f ground level space, on the southwest corner of 161st St., will be used as a center for New Yorkers living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS.
"This is a group that makes a critical difference in the lives of thousands of New Yorkers every day," said Consolo. "The size of the space and its proximity to New York Presbyterian Hospital will greatly contribute to its effectiveness in working with at risk populations."
Maglio said, "As our group continues to work in Upper Manhattan, we become more aware of the various communities' needs. It is this experience that enables us to secure the right tenants for these locations."
Consolo, Aquino and Maglio represented the landlord.
Founded in 1990, with the mission of "helping many, one by one," the organization currently has centers on the Lower East Side, East Harlem and Union Sq. At the new venue, ASC will provide services in conjunction with New York Presbyterian Hospital, including state-of-the-art peer education and training, harm reduction, specialized women's services, HIV counseling and testing, mental health services, medical and holistic care, case management, support groups, and other innovative programs.
