May 6, 2011 - Shopping Centers
Payless ShoeSource is the newest retail tenant to open at Sky View Center, the 800,000 s/f shopping center located below Sky View Parc, the borough's new mixed-used residential development. The new 4,200 s/f Payless location recently opened on level D.
The chain has just launched their spring 2011 collection featuring exclusive labels by New York fashion designers, such as Lela Rose and Christian Siriano. With over 4,500 other locations nationally, Payless is the largest specialty family footwear retailer's in the Western Hemisphere and a leader in bringing compelling lifestyle, fashion and performance brands for footwear and related accessories to consumers worldwide.
"This is an exciting year for Sky View Center as we continue to welcome more and more visitors and shoppers from the community as well as new retailers to our bustling center," said Michael Dana, President of Onex Real Estate Partners, owner/developer of Sky View Parc. "With a great variety of offerings, the ongoing Sky View Celebrates event series and even more store openings in the coming months, we expect the excitement and momentum to continue to build throughout the year."
Payless joins other premier retailers at Sky View Center, including already opened Old Navy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, BJ's Wholesale Club, Bob's Discount Furniture, Marshalls, and Target (including a Starbucks and Pizza Hut Express) and restaurants Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and Chuck E. Cheese's. Shoppers can also expect even more openings this spring, including Five Guys Burgers, as well as the 33,000-square-foot Asian supermarket Sky Foods, set to open in June.
Further adding to the excitement at Sky View Center is the ongoing music event series - Sky View Celebrates! A Sunday Music Spectacular featuring CenterStage: The Queens Center for the Performing Arts. The show-stopping music series will feature a variety of jazz, classical string quartets, piano and percussion performances by the talented students and all-star faculty of CenterStage that will run throughout the spring and summer.

Sky View Center, located at College Point Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing, Queens, is a short walk from the Mets' brand new Citi Field and the USTA National Tennis Center, venues that attract millions of spectators each year.
