Long Island
The Prancing Horse, one of the best-known symbols of Italian luxury, will soon be on an office building leased and managed by Wachtler Knopf Equities LLC (WKE).
WKE said that Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island has leased 15,500 s/f at 45 S. Service Rd., a Plainview office building that fronts on the Long island Expressway. The prestigious auto dealership, currently in Glen Cove, intends to use the space for a new, exotic car showroom that is expected to open shortly.
"This site is a great asset, because it is literally four times the size of our current showroom in Glen Cove, which will allow us to showcase more cars," said Stuart Hayim, the owner of Ferrari-Masserti of Long Island.
"The addition of Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island to our tenant roster at 45 S. Service Rd., along with the recent addition of Christie's, demonstrates the value and appeal to high-caliber companies of our prominent location fronting on the Long Island Expressway," said Philip Wachtler, principal of WKE.
Tenants in the building include Christie's, the international art auction house, and Aeroflex Inc., one of Long Island's largest aerospace firms. About 35,000 s/f will be available in the building beginning this month. The 45 S. Service Rd. location offers one of the rare spaces available in Nassau County with frontage on the LIE.
The exotic car dealership is one of only 36 authorized Ferrari dealers in North America. Hayim, its owner, is a Great Neck businessman and four-time world champion offshore powerboat racer. Hayim, who also owns Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa, said he plans to build a permanent facility for his Italian car dealership in the adjacent Plainview building.
The five-year lease was arranged directly with the tenant by Wachtler. The relocation required approval of officials of the Italian automaker in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., and Modena, Italy.
Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island renovated space once occupied by Citibank for the new showroom.
