Alan Hendrickson, Commercial Corporate Realty, LLC, is the recipient of the NYSCAR 2010 Realtor of the Year Award. The award was presented to Hendrickson by the 2009 Realtor of the Year recipient, John Lavelle, during the Jan. 29 board of governors' meeting. The award is given each year to recognize an outstanding active member of the NYSCAR.
He serves on the board of governors for the NYSCAR and is currently the chairman of the member communications & promotions committee and member of the finance committee. He has been active at the local level with NYSCAR's L.I. Metro Chapter, where he has served as director, president and currently serves as treasurer.
Several years ago NYSCAR adopted a tagline ("Bringing Commercial Real Estate Practitioners Together") and Hendrickson has been a strong advocate of this direction. On L.I., the Metro L.I. Chapter hosts numerous events that include all of the major commercial real estate groups. Each year, the chapter hosts a Groundhog Day event, where industry leaders speak on their fields of expertise, including office, retail, investment, industrial, and outer boroughs. This year, Hendrickson has Deloitte joining the panel to discuss the proposed changes in lease accounting.
Each year, in July, the chapter hosts a Jeopardy Challenge event, whereby the major real estate groups compete in a friendly game of commercial real estate trivia. The winners and runners-up receive trophies and bragging rights. Kristine Wolf, of the New York Real Estate Journal, is one of the notable judges for this event.
Alan entered the real estate field in 2002, following a career in banking, finance and turnaround companies. He joined Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT on Long Island, where he quickly rose to the ranks as a Top Producer.
In 2009, Alan left Coldwell Banker to partner in a new company, Corporate Commercial Realty, LLC, located in Melville, NY.
In 2003, Alan joined the Long Island Commercial Network (LICN), which is the commercial division of the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR). He became a Director of LICN and advanced through the officer ranks, ultimately becoming President in 2009.
In 2008, Alan was named Commercial Broker of the Year for LICN.
