January 24, 2011 - Brokerage
Chapter 58 will present the Institute of Real Estate Management's acclaimed ethics course "Ethics for The Real Estate Manager." Addressing ethical dilemmas commonly faced by today's real estate managers, this DVD-based course teaches strategies for resolving ethical dilemmas and adherence to the IREM Code of Professional Ethics, culminating in an exam to earn IREM credit for the certified property Manager, Accredited Residential Manager and Accredited Commercial Manager designations.
Students will learn about the IREM Code of Professional Ethics and how it applies to real world situations in ethical duties to clients, tenants/residents, employers, and colleagues. The course will explore ethical decision making (ethical vs. unethical business practices, tactics for resolving ethical dilemmas, and provide scenarios with ethical implications) and conflict of interest issues (fiduciary relationships, conflict of interest scenarios). Detailed case studies will review actual ethics cases and their implications, and help attendees understand the enforcement of the IREM Code of Professional Ethics and the role of the IREM Ethics and Discipline Committee.
Attendees will benefit their personal and professional lives by learning to conduct business using the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, and resolving conflicts efficiently and ethically.
The course will be held on Wednesday, February 16 at the Greater Rochester Area Realtors Training Facility at 800 West Metro Park.
