Hesterberg honored with Appraisal Institute award

Alexander Hesterberg, MAI, recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award, at the Appraisal Institute's annual meeting.
The Appraisal Institute is the nation's largest professional association of real estate appraisers, with 25,000 members in 60 countries around the world.
"His passion and strong views have made him a great leader and a great mentor," Appraisal Institute president Leslie Sellers, MAI, SRA, said of Hesterberg.
Awarded this year for the first time, the Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an Appraisal Institute member who demonstrates high ethical standards; has volunteered several years of service and has contributed to the Appraisal Institute on the chapter, regional, national and/or international level; has served his or her community; and has contributed to the appraisal profession for at least 20 years.
Hesterberg earned his MAI designation in 1984 and since has been a member of the Appraisal InstituteÂ’s International Relations Committee, Government Relations Committee, Long Range Planning Committee and Client Advisory Board and also served on several project teams on the national level. He was instrumental in the integration of the two New York chapters at the time of the merger of the Appraisal Institute, and he was elected chapter president in 1998. Also within his chapter, he helped put together an annual educational seminar for members and guests of the Appraisal Institute, became a chapter Board of Directors member and remains active in the Metropolitan New York chapter. He is a managing director at Deutsche Bank.
