Laurence Glazer, CEO of Buckingham Properties, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rochester area chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (RAC-NYSCAR). The award was presented at RAC-NYSCAR's 6th Annual President's Dinner and Awards Ceremony on November 29 at the Genesee Valley Club. "Larry has done a tremendous job growing his business, helping to redevelop Greater Rochester and, all the while, maintaining a respectful working relationship with the members of our organization," said David Dworkin, NYSCAR president. Glazer, at the helm of Buckingham Properties since 1970, has overseen, among other projects, the redevelopment of: * The former ArtCraft Optical Building (85 Allen St.) - now Buckingham Commons, a mixture of offices and loft apartments. * The former Case-Hoyt Bldg. (100 Beaver Rd., Chili) - now Beaver Rd. Business Center, a mixture of office and warehouse-distribution space. * The former Genesee Hospital (Alexander St./Monroe Ave.) - in the process of redevelopment into an "urban village" with offices, retail and residential living spaces. Glazer said, "It's an honor to be recognized by such a highly-respected group of professionals. Although it's a lifetime achievement award, there's a lot more I'd like to accomplish in real estate before I redevelop myself into whatever comes next." Buckingham Properties, a real estate development and property management company headquartered in Rochester, focuses on the adaptive re-use of existing commercial properties. With more than 30 properties totaling 7 million s/f in the greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region stretching from Syracuse to LeRoy, Buckingham's holdings include industrial, office, retail, residential and mixed use/flex space for lease, and prime vacant land ready for new-build opportunities.
