Ganiaris joins Sierra Realty as a senior vice president of acquisition and development

Demetri Ganiaris has joined the real estate firm Sierra Realty Corp. as senior VP of acquisition and development. Ganiaris has 15 years of experience in N.Y.C. real estate and economic development, ranging from small multifamily building deals to organizing management teams on mixed use developments comprising more than one million s/f. Prior to joining Sierra Realty, Ganiaris was a founding member and managing principal of Alder Real Estate Partners, a real estate advisory and brokerage firm that provided asset management and strategic planning services for such clients as: Brevet Capital, Aris Real Estate Partners and EEK Architects. He honed his passion for real estate at Vornado Realty Trust and the N.Y.C. Economic Development Corp. in the areas of program management, leasing, construction, contract management and real estate transactions. "Mr. Ganiaris' vast experience, across a variety of real estate sectors, makes him a valuable contribution to the firm," said James Wacht, president of the full-service real estate firm. "I am confident that he will help to continue Sierra's successful acquisition and development track record for years to come." Ganiaris sits on the board of Friends of Greenwich St., a community organization dedicated to the greening of Tribeca and downtown Manhattan and Lott CDC. He sits on the board of directors for ULI's NY Council. He's also a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the American Planning Association. He holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from University of Colorado, Boulder, Col. and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Urban Planning at Columbia University. He is also a former guest lecturer at NYU and Baruch College's Stephen Newman Real Estate Institute.
