AARP's Harlem office will remain in the Lee Building, 1825 Park Ave. at 125th St., signing a new four-year lease for an expanded office on a higher floor of the building.
The AARP office, with 15 staffers, moved from a 1,000 s/f, sixth floor office to a renovated 1,650 s/f seventh floor suite.
AARP has been a tenant in the Lee Building for the last four years, according to Giscombe Realty VP Jeffrey Schettino, who said he worked with AARP to meet their budget.
Giscombe Realty Group, a leading commercial real estate management, leasing and consulting firm, owns the Lee Building. The property recently underwent a $4 million renovation that included a major restoration of the building's façade, its metal cornice and parapet, new modern elevators and lobby.
The 12-story, cast-iron building, is over 80% leased with tenants such as the Opus 118 Music School, Single Stop USA, The Abyssinian Fund, a non-profit started by the Abyssinian Baptist Church, the Greenstein and Milbauer Law Firm, Griffin Architect, Rocket Recording Studio and more.
