Zuckerman named executive managing director of Newmark Knight Frank

Jon Zuckerman has joined Newmark Knight Frank in the New York headquarters office as an executive managing director providing comprehensive services for corporate and institutional tenants and owners. Zuckerman's areas of expertise—spanning 30 years in the industry—include leasing, strategic planning, transaction management, asset management and location analysis.
Prior to working as a real estate advisor, Zuckerman spent eight years practicing law at a prominent Manhattan law firm, where he represented some of the city's most active owners and developers.

An accomplished tenant representative, Zuckerman has spearheaded numerous notable transactions, the most recent of which includes securing 300,000 s/f for Avon Products, Inc. In this highly publicized transaction, Zuckerman arranged Avon's relocation to 777 Third Avenue. Additional recent transactions include Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (45,000-square-foot renewal at 200 Park Avenue) and Trust Company of the West (85,000 square feet at 1251 Sixth Avenue).
Over the past 10 years, Mr. Zuckerman has closed more than eight million square feet in lease transactions. Each year, one or more of these transactions has appeared on Crain's New York Business' list of "Top 50 Transactions." He was responsible for arranging lease transactions totaling two million square feet at 200 Park Avenue, including 300,000 square feet with Dreyfus Corporation and Greenberg Traurig, LLP, 250,000 square feet with Barclays, 135,000 square feet with Hunton & Williams and 100,000 square feet with Bovis Lend Lease. Mr. Zuckerman's recent landlord clients include MetLife and AXA Equitable. Other notable clients include Shorenstein Properties LLC, New York Life Insurance, Yale University's Endowment Fund and Murad Skin Care.
In his previous role, Zuckerman was a senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis. Prior to his tenure with CBRE, he headed Compass Management & Leasing Inc.'s tri-state region portfolio and Jones Lang LaSalle's midtown portfolio. Earlier in his career, Zuckerman served as a leasing director for the Midtown properties at Olympia & York, where he was initially practicing as legal counsel. In addition to successfully leasing Olympia & York's trophy assets, he led the repositioning effort for 1290 Avenue of the Americas and leased the 250,000-square-foot retail component of the World Financial Center.
Zuckerman is a frequent lecturer at Columbia University's Graduate Business School, in the executive M.B.A. program course on leasing. He is a member of the American and New York Bar associations and the Real Estate Board of New York.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Zuckerman is active with the New York Blood Center. He holds an M.A. degree from Columbia University, received his J.D. from St. John's University and graduated with a B.A. from American University.
