Barrows named NAHB's green building individual advocate of the year

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named John Barrows of J. Barrows, Inc., as its Green Building Individual Advocate of the Year. The association honored Barrows at the 12th Annual NAHB National Green Building Conference.
Barrows is a nationally recognized author and speaker who provides education to building professionals in energy efficiency, green building practices, and project management. He has written several training courses for NAHB and is the co-author of the "Complete Idiot's Guide to Green Building and Remodeling." Barrows is on the board of directors of the Long Island Builders Institute and is currently chairman of the Long Island Green Homes Council.
Barrows is president of J. Barrows Inc., a general contracting, construction management, and construction consultation service for over 30 years and seeks to include many sustainable and energy efficient practices in each custom residential project they undertake.
Barrows is also the co-founding partner of Performance Path Solutions, LLC, a company that provides consultation services, educational programs, and verifications for energy efficiency and green building.
