July 13, 2010 - Shopping Centers
According to Newmark Knight Frank National Retail Group, MGM Management has signed on three new tenants at 214 First Ave., repositioning the entire 3,750 s/f of retail in the building.
JRH Group took 2,500 s/f on the corner for a new Asian-fusion restaurant to be named Kumo Sushi.
Tallgrass Burgers will occupy 1,000 s/f on 1st Ave.
Mark's Barber Shop recently opened in 250 s/f on 13th St.
214 First Avenue will be the eighth location nationwide for JRH Group, which owns and operates Asian-themed restaurants in New York, New Hampshire and California. Tallgrass Burgers intends for this new location to be its Manhattan flagship, in addition to two existing locations under a different brand.
"This prewar building has three retail spaces with great visibility," said Jared Lack, director of Newmark Knight Frank National Retail Group, who, along with executive vice president and principal Amira Yunis, exclusively represent MGM Management's retail portfolio in New York City.
"The high traffic location is conveniently located by Stuyvesant Town's huge residential population and the 1st Avenue stop of the L train," he adds.
Tallgrass and JRH Group were represented by Lack and Yunis, while ATO Realty's Avi Ofri represented Mark's Barber Shop.
