Crystal Windows & Door Systems marks 20th anniversary milestone
June 4, 2010 - Owners Developers & Managers
Crystal Window & Door Systems marked the completion of its 20th year of operation on May 15. The company was started two decades ago by Taiwanese-American immigrant Thomas Chen with a small Queens, N.Y. operation fabricating aluminum windows for the local community. The company has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers in the nation of both aluminum and vinyl windows, as well as high-end fenestration systems. Crystal boasts of production facilities in New York, Chicago and Missouri, vertically integrated operations, a national sales and distribution network, and international activities. Crystal has also expanded beyond windows to establish operations in building products such as fencing, solar panels and aluminum extrusion and finishing.
The company has been recognizing and celebrating the milestone in numerous ways with customers and employees over the past 12 months, which culminated in a 800-guest gala banquet. Crystal's 20-year milestone of business success and growth has been formally recognized with special citations from the Queens Borough president, the New York State senate, the New York City mayor and the U.S. House of Representatives. Queens Borough president Helen Marshall, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Congressman Gary Ackerman further proclaimed May 15, 2010 as Crystal Windows Day in the Borough of Queens, the City of New York, and the entire nation, respectively.
"The 20th Anniversary milestone is indeed a happy occasion for Crystal Windows," said Thomas Chen, president and founder of the company. "However, I would be remiss if I didn't note the two most important factors that have driven our past two decades of success and will drive our future success in the decades to come. All of this would not have been possible without the support of all our truly wonderful customers and the efforts of our dedicated employees. They are the best in the world and I thank each and every one of them."
