BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY 2010: June 16-17 at Jacob K. Javits Convention Ctr.
June 4, 2010 - Owners Developers & Managers
BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY, the largest regional buildings event for the New York Metro and New England area, will be taking place June 16-17 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Now more than ever, building professionals including building owners, property managers, engineers, contractors and architects are looking for ways to stay competitive in today's challenging times. The advancing green movement provides a wealth of opportunities for buildings to become more energy efficient and attract new tenants. But keeping abreast of developments in the industry, new green technologies, products, policies and codes can be equally challenging.
In response to those challenges, the BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY conference features a two-day program with over 35 presentations and educational panels presented by industry leaders. This year, the event team is proud to announce that its 2010 education program has been approved for a variety of industry leading continuing education credits: AIA Learning Units, USGBC CE Hours through GBCI, NYS Professional Development Hours for Engineers, and RAM Recertification Credits. According to Christine Ford, event director, "We are very happy to be working again with Rob Watson, CEO of EcoTech International Inc. and the executive editor of GreenerBuildings.com as our 2010 conference chair. We have worked hard to become accredited for a variety of continuing education hours that we know are so important to today's buildings professionals. We look forward to hosting an exciting event this year, with more industry accreditation that we've ever offered in the past."
This year's event also features a new partnership with UPworld, the premier online network for the design, construction and real estate industry, to bring our audience even more opportunities for networking pre-show, onsite and post-show. Several complimentary Industry MeetUP Sessions will be scheduled onsite in the Networking Lounge to help participants make new connections with key industry groups. Sessions include: Architects MEET Building Owners, Building Managers MEET Contractors and more! Advance sign up is available on the BuildingsNY.com website and walk-ins will be welcome, based on availability.
Other special events include a keynote presentation by Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch on Wednesday, June 16 at 9 a.m. - open to all event participants. Also on Wednesday, New York House magazine will announce the winners of its Innovative Green Design Awards in the networking lounge on the exhibit hall floor at 4 p.m. Join us to celebrate winners who represent the greenest materials, most sustainable methods of manufacturing, highest energy efficiency, greatest innovation, smallest carbon footprint and best looking designs in each award category.
Readers of New York Real Estate Journal are invited to attend the exhibit hall as complimentary guests. To register online, go to http://www.buildingsny.com/NYRE or use Priority Code: AD9. Alternatively, you can bring a copy of this press release to registration at the Javits Center and the $50 registration fee will be waived. Show hours are Wednesday, June 16 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Thursday, June 17 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Registration will open each day at 8 a.m. Nearly 7,500 buildings professionals are expected at GreenBuildingsNY, which is now in its third year, and several hundred exhibitors will be on hand at the co-located BuildingsNY event, which is celebrating its 30th year.
