Colliers International has represented the owner of 127-131 West 25th St. on a 104,500 s/f lease in the Chelsea District.
Foremost Properties, which owns the 12-story building, was represented by the father/son team of Marty and Eric Meyer of Colliers on this full-building deal. The new tenant, BRC, signed a 33-year lease that will begin in late this year.
David Lebenstein and a team of brokers from real estate services firm Cassidy Turley represented BRC. Bruce Leuzzi of Leuzzi and Leuzzi acted as legal counsel for Foremost Properties.
The new space will accommodate BRC's administrative headquarters and house many of its programs. The move also enables BRC to consolidate its area operations and services under one roof once the $15 million renovation is completed.
"It's incredibly gratifying to assist a landlord on a transaction that will directly benefit the city's neediest and most at-risk population," said Marty Meyer of Colliers International. "We worked very closely with Foremost Properties and their new tenant since last summer, and the end result is a transaction that both sides - - and the city at large - - can and should be very proud of."
Foremost Properties president Daniel Shavolian credited the Colliers International team for their collaborative and hands-on approach to a lengthy transaction.
"I am thrilled to have secured a tenant that plays such a vital role in the life of our city," said Shavolian, who owns several commercial properties throughout Manhattan.
