Elkowitz named to VHB's Board of Directors

According to VHB, Theresa Elkowitz, principal, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Watertown, Mass.-based Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.-an affiliate of New York-based VHB Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture, P.C.
Elkowitz joined VHB as a result of the merger between VHB and Freudenthal & Elkowitz Consulting Group, Inc. (FECG) in January 2009. Since then, she has worked to grow VHB's environmental and energy practice on Long Island. She has more than 20 years of experience with the NYS Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) process and has prepared numerous environmental assessment forms, draft and final Environmental Impact Statements; planning and zoning studies; visual assessments; and associated evaluations. Most recently, Ms. Elkowitz has worked on the following projects: Long Island Power Authority Shoreham Redevelopment, Town of Brookhaven; AvalonBay at Huntington Station, Town of Huntington; redevelopment of the Clare Rose Facility, Village of Patchogue; Ronkonkoma Transit-Oriented Development, Town of Brookhaven; Heartland Town Square (Redevelopment of Former Pilgrim State Psychiatric Center), Town of Islip; and The Ponds at Southampton, Town of Southampton and Village of Southampton.
