Long Island Business News honors Deegan Dickson of Forchelli, Curto

Kathleen Deegan Dickson, partner at Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana LLP was honored recently in a celebration of Long Island's 50 Most Influential Women by the Long Island Business News. Deegan Dickson was selected because of her leadership in business and in the community. Deegan Dickson concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate transactional matters, and, in particular, land use and zoning law. Deegan Dickson has an extensive track record of success with and before municipal boards and agencies on significant projects throughout Long Island. Perhaps more importantly, she has a reputation for effectiveness and integrity in the pre-hearing meetings and outreach to municipal planning staffs and civic groups that are now a must in Long Island's current development climate. She is former counsel to the city of Glen Cove Planning and Zoning Boards, and currently represents many developers, property owners, corporations and private individuals in all types of matters involving real property transactions, zoning and land use. Currently, she is a member of the firm's Marketing Committee, which develops and implements the firm's strategic marketing plans. As a female partner in the firm, Kathleen has taken an active role in mentoring young women both associates and paralegals. She is a member of the American and the New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, WEDLI (Women Economic Developers of Long Island), the Nassau County Catholic Lawyer's Guild and the New York Democratic Lawyers Council where she acts as the Glen Cove Elections Coordinator. Ms. Deegan Dickson also serves on the Advisory Council of the North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove, and the Board of Tomorrow's Hope Foundation. She has been awarded an "AV" legal ability and ethics rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory - the very highest rating this nationally recognized publication has established. A graduate of St. John's Law School (class of 1991), Deegan Dickson has published articles on land subdivision in the New York Real Estate Journal. In addition, while at St. John's Law School, she was on the staff of and had an article published in St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary. She earned her bachelor's degree from Providence College in 1988 and is an inaugural member of the new Providence College Alumni Club of Long Island.
