The Real Estate Board of New York has awarded the Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award for 2010 to Eric Deutsch and Ken Meyerson, executive vice presidents; Jason Pollen and James Robbins, senior vice presidents, and Kevin Powderly, vice president, of CB Richard Ellis.
The CBRE team represented GAP in its relocation to 40 Worth St.(now also known as 60 Thomas St.), a 265,083 s/f office transaction that was the third-largest in Manhattan in 2009.
In moving to Downtown, the apparel giant consolidated the offices of its brands, including Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy, from 620 and 675 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown South.
"It is most satisfying to see REBNY recognize CBRE's great teamwork and coordination of a complex relocation and consolidation of GAP's business in a transaction that was a triumph for our client and Downtown's business community" said Mitchell E. Rudin, president and CEO, New York Tri-State Region, CBRE. "Year after year, CBRE's talented professionals work together for the benefit of clients at such a high level as to garner prestigious awards such as REBNY's Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award."
This year's award extends CBRE's unparalleled string of success in the REBNY competition. All told, CBRE has won 25 REBNY creative deal-making awards, eclipsing the competition.
GAP is occupying the entire 11th through 16th floors at 40 Worth Street, each of which measures 45,000 sq. ft. Ownership is completing a thorough renovation of the building including new windows, new elevators, new mechanical systems and a new lobby. The building, which borders Tribeca, boasts large, efficient floor plates, and will have a new private lobby and dedicated elevators for GAP. The tenant will begin initial occupancy later this year and is to complete its move by 2012.
The landlord, Newmark Knight Frank, was represented by Jeff Gural and his team, of Newmark Knight Frank.
