Chera, Snyder of Crown Retail act for Lids in two leases: 3,640 s/f total

According to Crown Retail Services, Lids, (a division of Genesco) has leased two new locations in Times Square: 2,640 s/f at 1501 Broadway and 1,000 s/f at 2 Times Sq. These transactions bring Lids', the largest seller of official Major League Baseball apparel, Manhattan store count to six, with four stores in Times Square. Crown Retail Services' principal Haim Chera and director Stephanie Snyder represented Lids in both transactions. 1501 Broadway ownership, Paramount LLC, was represented by Jeffrey Roseman of Newmark Knight Frank Retail. At 2 Times Square building ownership, Sherwood Equities, was represented in-house. "Tourists are a key component of the Lids business and Times Square is one of the world's top tourist destinations," commented Snyder. "1501 Broadway and 2 Times Square enable Lids to expand its presence in the area and meet the demands of its ever-growing customer base." At 1501 Broadway between 43rd and 44th Streets, Lids has leased 1,340 s/f of retail space on the Ground Floor and an additional 1,300 s/f of non-contiguous storage space. Located at the epicenter of Times Square, Lids will have a strong presence and highly visible location joining Levi's, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Hard Rock Cafe. The store will feature an updated glass façade and is anticipated to open in summer 2010. At 2 Times Sq., the site of the Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Lids has leased a second location. Anticipated to open in spring 2010, the retailer will occupy 1,000 s/f on Seventh Ave. between 47th and 48th Sts. The retailer currently has a store on the Broadway side of the building. Neighboring tenants include Inglot Cosmetics, Jamba Juice and Olive Garden. With 920 stores Lids offers the biggest and best selection of sport, fashion and collegiate hats. The company sells more officially licensed major league baseball apparel than any other retailer in the world. Stores offer a vast assortment of officially-licensed and branded professional and college sports teams, as well as other specialty fashion categories all in the latest styles and colors.
