Professionally, where were you ten years ago and where are you now? Professionally, I am better educated finding ways to sell property in a difficult economy. What single event professional or personal has most significantly impacted your career? There is not one single event but many. Many of them have been assisting the young folks starting out in life. That gives you a good feeling. What was the best decision that you made in the last year? Trying not to do all the work myself; to ask for help. What award or recognition has been the most meaningful to you and why? As a Rotarian since 1989, I was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. This is a very prestigious award of which I am greatly proud to be a member. I have been recognized as being a good citizen and volunteer in my community. How do you stay ahead of the curve? Who says I am ahead of the curve. Is anyone really? If so, I want them to share their secrets. Who has been the strongest influence on your career and why? My husband when I could not decide whether to stay in my former job as assistant to the special education director at local school. What impact has social networking had on your success? Always good to get out and socialize. As perhaps older than average, I have learned to just be my wonderful self and let people judge me for who I am. How has the need to create a more sustainable environment influenced the way you do business? Being the volunteer that I am, part of which is running a local Farmers Market to help people recognize and encourage organic farming. Being a member of the Beautification Committee in our community influences clients by knowing that we are here to assist them with ideas on environmental issues that will sustain the future of their business and our community. What obstacles have you overcome to get where you are today? The years that go by so quickly. What advice would you give to a woman just starting a career in your field? Don't expect to jump all the hurdles at once. Learn by watching and listening. Then go for it. If you fall, get the heck up and don't look back.
