Corporate space planning and interior design firm MKDA has designed 14,000 s/f of office space on the 33rd floor at 1095 Avenue of the Americas on behalf of China Construction Bank Corp. (CCB) - one of the world's largest banks. The office marks the first U.S. location for the bank, which is headquartered in Beijing, China. "This is a significant milestone in China Construction Bank's global strategy. We are pleased to have had the opportunity to work in close collaboration with its American and Chinese teams to complete this highly detailed project on a tight schedule," said MKDA president Michael Kleinberg, whose firm devised the building's prebuilt program to attract major international tenants. "We spent more time than usual assisting the bank's executives in selecting furnishings and finishes that would convey the correct level of status and tradition," said MKDA director of design Daniel DeSiena. "We enjoyed this project and the opportunity to reevaluate our approach to designing office space," said DeSiena. "And, we were honored when the space received company-wide accolades and recognition at its grand opening celebration at the Waldorf Astoria."
