The opening of New York's new rental building, The Corner at 200 West, signals a new era in rentals by offering the same caliber of finishes and amenities typical of the city's most elegant condominiums.
Situated in the heart of the Upper West Side at the intersection of 72nd St. and Broadway and located above a Trader Joe's opening later this year, The Corner features a glass design punctuated by 16 private terraces along the building's outer perimeter. The Handel Architects-designed tower, stands 20-stories tall, and was built at an open 118 degree angle.
The lobby was designed by Andres Escobar.
"Every aspect of 200 West has been well thought out - from the lobby chandelier and intricate flooring details to the custom-designed sconces and bronze door knockers. It is a transformative experience every step of the way as you journey from the outdoors into the comfort and calm of your home," said David Picket, president of Gotham Organization, Inc.
The Corner features a total of 196 studios, one, two and three-bedroom luxury homes, ranging from 418 to 1,600 s/f.
The Corner was constructed with many environmentally friendly elements and is expected to obtain Silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
There will also be 48,000 s/f of retail space that comprises the building's sub-cellar to the second floor.
The Corner is developed by Gotham Organization and is owned through a joint venture including Gotham Organization, Rhodes NY and Philips International.
