Michael Webb, Farrell Fritz, P.C.

Name: Michael Webb

Title: Counsel

Company Name: Farrell Fritz, P.C.

How do you contribute to your community or your profession?

In addition to being a member of my firm’s pro bono committee, I serve on the Long Island Advisory Board of Pro Bono Partnership, with the aim of expanding the scope of pro bono legal services that this organization provides to the Long Island community. I strive to perform at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services per calendar year. In addition, I serve on the Advisory Board of New Ground Inc., a local not-for-profit providing housing and ancillary services to homeless veterans and their families. I volunteer with the Half Hollow Hills Little League and manage a youth t-ball team.

What led you to your current profession?

A desire to work in a fast paced, impactful and meaningful profession and use my abilities to hopefully make a lasting impact on my community. Law is a second career for me; I had previously been in the marketing field and knew I could use my knowledge and skills for something greater. On a lark, I studied for the LSATs and applied to law school, and the rest is history.

Who was/is your mentor and how did s/he influence/help you in your career?

My father and my father-in-law are my greatest professional mentors. I learned from both of these individuals the value of hard work, consistency, selflessness and the importance of being of service to your clients and employer in the greatest capacity possible, while also being present and available for family and friends. While neither are attorneys, they have each been an invaluable resource and sounding board throughout my career, and have provided constant support.

Top three things on your bucket list:

Visit all the U.S. National Parks with my wife and two sons; travel to a destination on each of the continents; and return to French Polynesia with my wife for a milestone anniversary.

Favorite quote:

“Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground.” –Theodore Roosevelt

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

The reason I enjoy my career and profession so immensely is because I take pride in every closing and find the closing of every transaction rewarding. If I had to choose one transaction I would go back to 2017 and my very first pro bono case as an attorney. I was able to assist a local not-for-profit finance the acquisition of a residential home that was improved and is currently used to house homeless veterans and their families. This closing truly made an immediate impact in my community and is one I point to frequently as a milestone transaction.
