John O'Loughlin, Brookhaven IDA and LDC

Brookhaven town supervisor Edward Romaine and Frederick Braun III, chairman of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and the Brookhaven Local Development Corp. (LDC), have appointed John O'Loughlin to the boards of the Brookhaven IDA and LDC.
He is COO and VP of Bay Gas, a family-run distributor of LP gas based in Shirley. Bay Gas, founded as an oil distributer in 1968 by O'Loughlin's father, Jack, has since evolved into a propane gas distributor with more than 50 employees and 30,000 customers.
"John O'Loughlin's business experience, working with over 30,000 clients, the community and suppliers, lends itself to a strong base for assisting the Industrial Development Agency and the Local Development Corp. in their roles in creating jobs and bringing businesses to the Town of Brookhaven," said Supervisor Edward Romaine. "His propensity to lead and work in a cohesive fashion will make him an asset to the agencies."
"John O'Loughlin is a respected businessman in the town and brings a wealth of business experience to the boards of the Brookhaven IDA and Brookhaven LDC," Braun said. "I am sure he will put his knowledge and experience to work as a board member of the IDA and the LDC as we work to strengthen the town's economy."
The Brookhaven town board approved O'Loughlin's appointment to the unpaid position at its October 28 meeting.
