Navigating NYC's latest regulatory challenge: The 2015 Fire Code

BOMA/NY's traditional January seminar on Fire and Life Safety goes into high gear in 2015 with a practical overview of what building teams can expect from the new NYC Fire Code. Details have been worked on for months, and while the FDNY has not yet issued the precise rules, BOMA/NY's pro-active seminar gives an advance look at what buildings teams can expect—from what's new and different from the previous code, how to comply most effectively, FDNY enforcement and more. Held at Club 101 at 101 Park Ave. from 8 to 10:30 a.m., the January 21st seminar has been crafted by BOMA/NY's professional development committee. It is being led by experts from: SiteCompli, a technology company that updates/aggregates data ranging from violations and inspections to fines and permits across city agencies; Croker Fire Drill Corp., the 100-year old expert in fire safety, plans, training and prevention; Cohen, Hochman & Allen, a leading administration law firm specializing in NYC regulatory law. With BOMA/NY treasurer Ronald Zeccardi moderating, highlights will include: * The 18-24 month timeline for compliance. * Plan requirements, including the 3 levels of plans based on occupancy type. * Violation types. * Enforcement. * FDNY structure and how units interface with plan compliance/enforcement. Sample reports and Best Practices will also be covered so attendees will leave with as much practical knowledge as possible. Registration information will be available soon, and all wishing to attend can contact BOMA/NY's director of education Mary Sorgente at [email protected] or (212) 239-3662.
