NAI Friedland honors Herko with Broker of the Year Award
Robin Herko, executive vice president of NAI Friedland's retail division, was recently honored with the firm's Broker of the Year Award for her performance in 2012. The veteran broker also received four additional awards from NAI Friedland, a full service commercial real estate firm serving metropolitan New York.
Annual awards are presented each year to the brokers at Friedland who excel in the various divisions at the firm and several categories are acknowledged in each division. This year, Herko was a standout winner, receiving multiple awards in several categories.
In addition to being named 2012 Broker of the Year, Herko was recognized for completing the most retail deals throughout the year (20) and the largest retail deal of the year: a long-term lease with Walgreens at 1031 Southern Blvd., Bronx. She also received an honorable mention for her long-term, 44,000 s/f lease for the Tappan Zee Hotel, the second largest retail deal of the year. Herko's year was in part due to her longtime partnerships within the office, most notably David Scotto and Steve Lorenzo, who worked with her on the Walgreen's transaction. Scotto was Herko's partner on the Tappan Zee Hotel deal, as well. As a result of these partnerships, the team-player closed the most deals for the year at Friedland and was the recipient of the largest real estate commission of 2012.
Herko has experience in commercial real estate and has been involved in retail leasing and sales in Westchester County, Rockland County, and the Bronx since beginning her career at NAI Friedland. She has completed transactions for the firm over the years, finding sites across the region for AAA credited tenants such as Walgreen's and Commerce/TD Bank. Herko was the exclusive agent in the $21 million sale of St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains and also sold $30 million worth of property in downtown Yonkers for development.
"I'm proud of Robin's achievement and am pleased to recognize her as the 2012 Broker of the Year," said Tony Lembeck, CEO of NAI Friedland. "She is a great asset to our firm and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to NAI Friedland, as well as to the region's real estate industry as a whole. She is a fine example of teamwork and co-brokerage within our firm and is a great role model to our junior brokers."
Herko is an active member of several local community and business organizations including the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Yonkers Chamber of Commerce, Hadassah Professional Women's Association, and UJA Westchester County Executive Women's Association.
