Michael Gianchetta of GIANCO Environmental Services

What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2012? I am confident the economy will continue to improve and as the commercial and industrial real estate market learns more about our services and excellent reputation, so will an increase in our recycling volumes, industrial waste disposal numbers and environmental project work with them. What was your greatest accomplishments in 2011? From a personal perspective, my greatest accomplishment is having the honor of being elected to and serving as chairman of the board for the Long Island Chapter of the USGBC for 2011. In addition to this great local honor, I was also recognized nationally, with a Recruitment Award from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for which I have been a member for a number of years. With great appreciation for these personal honors I am even more thrilled to have seen the continued growth, accolades and opportunities that my company, GIANCO Environmental Services continues to receive and be awarded. Please tell us about some of your most notable projects, deals and transactions from 2011 GIANCO is very fortunate to have seen a number of new contracts get under way in our recycling and environmental services. These ongoing service activities and welcomed new projects are in a number of areas. They include newly introduced environmentally beneficial products, increases in our universal/industrial waste disposal program and our health/safety compliance training. These projects have kept us busy and moving in a positive direction. I believe our steadily increasing asbestos/lead abatement and remedial work is a direct result of our professionalism and personal attention we give to each project and client to better meet their needs. What are your Resolutions for 2012? As my tenure as chair of USGBC-LI comes to an end, I look forward to remaining actively involved with the Green Building Council and continuing the work we have started to insure we keep making a difference. As a qualified and uniquely positioned diversified environmental service firm and product provider I very much look forward to 2012 with renewed energy and an even greater commitment to excellence our clients have come to expect from us.
