Metro Loft Mgmt. to transform 800,000 s/f into rental building

Once the fourth tallest building in the world and formerly the City Bank Farmers Trust Building (a predecessor of present day Citigroup), 20 Exchange Place is now being transformed into a spectacular residential rental building. With the leasing office now open in the building's lobby, 20 Exchange has officially unveiled its tower units, which offer residents spacious layouts, high-end finishes and Manhattan views. "This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to live in downtown's premier rental building," said Jack Berman, vice president of Metro Loft Management, owner and developer of 20 Exchange. "As one of the tallest and most prominent buildings in the Financial District, standing 57 stories tall, 20 Exchange, with its rich architectural detailing and unparalleled views, will offer residents a dynamic living space that blends old New York with the new." Originally constructed in 1931, the 800,000 s/f limestone-clad building, designed by Cross and Cross, boasts Art Deco architectural detailing. Phase one will include 350 luxurious residences. Available for immediate occupancy are the tower units ranging from studios to two-bedrooms. When completed, 20 Exchange, downtown's signature rental building, will boast an incredible amenity package comparable to neighboring luxury condominiums. Residents will have access to a 24-hour doorman, concierge and valet; fully equipped fitness center; residents lounge with billiard tables, plasma TVs and custom designed furniture; and landscaped sundeck located on the 19th floor. Located on Exchange Place, bordered by Hanover, William and Beaver Sts., 20 Exchange is just steps from 10 subway lines.
