Mc Gowan Builders completes $1.9 million, 26,000 s/f Best Buy
Mc Gowan Builders, Inc. completed the $1.9-million fit-out of the Best Buy store at 610 Exterior St. The 26,000 s/f retail facility is located within Related Companies' Gateway Center at Bronx Terminal Market Mall. In addition to general contractor Mc Gowan Builders, the project team included architect and interior designer Studio 5 Partnership and consulting engineer Glickman Engineering Associates, PLLC.
The project encompassed a complete interior build-out, including the internal glass and aluminum storefront and all fixtures and finishes. The store features the main sales floor, musical instruments department with soundproof booths, cash register counters, customer service department, Geek Squad center, bathrooms, and storage area.
The finishes include carpet tile flooring in the sales areas and VCT tiles in the bathrooms, high-bay lighting fixtures, drywall partition walls, millwork and steel display fixtures, and porcelain wall tiles in bathrooms
MGB relocated pre-existing utilities and services to accommodate the layout of the store, and coordinated installation of all store fixtures, including pre-wired audio/video equipment display racks. MEP work included a complex climate control system for the high-end guitar display area. MGB also coordinated installation of the telecommunications and data wiring throughout the store.
In addition to Best Buy, Mc Gowan Builders served as general contractor for Bed Bath & Beyond and Marshalls stores at the Gateway Center at Bronx Terminal Market.
