Majkowski of SL Green Realty to keynote luncheon on Sept. 24; sponsored by CSI-Construction & Security Installations
The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management will host their monthly luncheon on September 24 at The Union League Club, 38 East 37th St., starting at 11:30 to 1:30. Networking cocktail hour sponsored by CSI-Construction & Security Installations
This event features a keynote address "Next Generation: Integrating Millennials & Technology into Property Management" by Elizabeth Majkowski, CPM, senior vice president, operations at SL Green Realty Corp.
Majkowski has over 30 years of property management and real estate financial experience in New York City. She has been with SL Green for eight years and her current responsibilities include operational oversight of the Manhattan office, residential and retail portfolio totaling over 25 million s/f with annual operating expense budgets of $309 million and 2014 capital budgets of $284 million as well as supervision of a corporate staff of 75 and 1,100 in-house engineering and cleaning personnel.
Throughout 2013, Majkowski supported the evaluation of the operational expenses, maintenance programs and capital improvements required by Citgroup to consider extending their lease at 388-390 Greenwich St. The due diligence was successfully concluded in December 2013, when Citigroup Inc. (Citi) signed an agreement extending Citi's triple-net leases covering 2.6 million s/f through December 31, 2035. In 2012 she assisted in the due diligence and capital evaluation that led to the Viacom's renewal of 1.4 million s/f at 1515 Broadway extending and expanding the company's occupancy at the iconic Times Sq. tower through 2031.
Majkowski also serves as an adjunct professor for NYU's Master of Real Estate Program and is a member of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) New York Chapter and serves on the Codes and Regulations and Committee. She is also a member of the Management Committee for The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), Assosication of Real Estate Women (AREW) and served on the Executive Committee of the New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Majkowski was a 2013 finalist for the Urban Green Council EBIE Awards in two categories including SL Green's LED Lighting Retrofit Program and Real Time Energy Management Program. She has served as a panelist for the American Institute of Architects - Energy Efficiency Panel in 2011 and a LEED Panelist for the USBGC Green Expo in 2009.
Previously Majkowski was a director for the New York area at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. She started her career in 1983 as a financial manager and was promoted to a director and portfolio manager in 1996, overseeing a 6 million s/f portfolio in the New York area. Majkowski's background encompasses property and facilities management, financial operations, receiverships, capital improvements and management of commerical office, residential, retail and industrial portfolios. Throughout her career she has worked with prestigious clients including Citibank, American Express, Lend Lease, Pfizer, Glenwood Management, EL-AD Properties, The Chetrit Group, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust, Metlife and Wein & Malkin.
After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's University in 1983, She attained the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) in May 1992 and the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) in April 1998.
