LIREG to host June 4 Developers Showcase/Casino Night benefit

The Long Island Real Estate Group will host a developers showcase and casino night on June 4 at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Club in Brookville to benefit Schneider Children's Hospital and North Shore Holiday House. The event, which runs from 6-10 p.m., costs $250 for members and their guests and $350 for non-members. Developers, who will be showcasing their current projects, include: Alrose Group, Avalon Bay Communities Inc., Engel Group, the Lighthouse at Long Island, Polimeni International LLC, Rechler Equity Partners, Riverhead Resorts, Tritec Real Estate Co. and T. Weiss Realty Corp. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the expansion of the pediatric ambulatory cancer center at Schneider Children's Hospital in Lake Success, N.Y., and to support the construction of a new pool at North Shore Holiday House in Huntington, N.Y., which provides summer camp experiences for Long Island girls age 7-11, who live below the poverty level. LIREG, formed in 2004 to encourage networking among Long Island real estate developers, owners and allied trades and to raise funds for charitable real estate-related projects on Long Island, now has 175 members. Besides Angela's House, LIREG has contributed more than $100,000 to such charities as Haven House/Bridges Inc., Sunrise Day Camp, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Hospice Care Network and Habitat for Humanity. When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
