Contact Name : Kevin Harney Company Name : Stalco Construction, Inc. Email : [email protected] Phone : 631.254.6767 Fax : Address, City, State : 1316 Motor Parkway, Islandia, NY 11749 What was your greatest professional accomplishment in 2012? : Stalco Construction has continued its expansion in New York City and increased its presence in the commercial office and healthcare markets. It currently has nearly $80 million worth of on-going projects in New York City, including the $24M renovation of the Vaughn College of Aeronautics, the $8M Battery Park City Community Center, the $15M restoration of the Pier A, the $5M Emergency Department at the Lincoln Medical Center, the $19M Elmhurst Library, and the $1.8M College of Optometry labs. What was your most notable project, deal or transaction in 2012? : The two most interesting new projects in 2012 were the recently completed offices of the law firm Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP in Islandia, NY and the new, $19M School of Business at Farmingdale College SUNY. The law firm's office was delivered on a very short schedule and encompassed installation of an extensive telecommunications infrastructure and high-end finishes. The construction of the School of Business continues uninterrupted despite the damage caused by the Hurricane Sandy. What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2013? : I foresee a cautious rebound in the commercial and industrial construction markets as well as in the higher education construction. The K-12 construction market in New York State will remain limited. What are your resolutions for 2013? : Stalco is committed to improving the community and will increase its charitable activities in 2013. Our children and family-focused non-profit, Contractors For Kids, will hold an annual fundraiser in March and we are hoping to raise enough funds to reach the goal of $4 million in total monies contributed to CFK since its founding in 2005. Business-wise, Stalco will continue its expansion in the Greater New York area, particularly in the commercial office, higher education and healthcare markets.
