"Bennet fills an important senior management slot, especially as our institutional and developer client base recovers from the recession," said president David Helpern. "His background in the business of design - running projects and running offices - will be especially helpful."
For the last two years, Dunkley was responsible for management of a 550,000 s/f renovation and conversion of a General Services Administration office building in Washington, D.C., that is expected to achieve both GSA Design Excellence and USGBC LEED Gold status.
Dunkley worked in New York for two decades before that. Career highlights include a range of hotels around the world, 20,000 condominium units, a 125,000 s/f high school that focuses on law, and commercial interiors projects.
"Architecture in this decade brings new opportunities to work entrepreneurially and collaboratively," Dunkley said. "A new generation of clients views architects as part of their development team - all to the good for both parties."
Dunkley carries both U.S. and British passports and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects as well as the American Institute of Architects. His Bachelor of Architecture degree is from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is also LEED-accredited by USGBC's independent Green Building Certification Institute.
