Developing Brooklyn: 524 Halsey Street

Brooklyn, NY 524 Halsey St. is a former stable building carefully reimagined into beautifully-crafted condominiums in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The boutique development features 31 homes, full-service amenities, and original artwork by Humza Deas, a well-known Brooklyn-born photographer from contemporary art gallery Sugarlift.

Originally built in 1890, 524 Halsey St. previously served as stables for the Moser Palace Carriage Company and was first known as the Opera Stables and later the Opera Garage. Preserving as much of its history as possible, The Brooklyn Home Company worked closely with the Landmarks Preservation Commission to restore the building’s original brick façade and stone rubble foundation.

524 Halsey St. offers one to three-bedroom residences, including penthouses, duplexes, single-level layouts and two townhouses. The homes embrace TBHCo’s signature inviting style with natural materials, soft textures and a thoughtful attention to light and space. Known for artistically-inspired living spaces, TBHCo integrated the same custom craftsmanship that the firm has brought to some of the city’s most exquisite townhouses. The loft-like residences feature Madera white oak flooring, over 11-ft. ceilings and oversized windows that maximize space and light. Most homes offer an indoor-outdoor lifestyle with private terraces or gardens.

The building’s boutique nature and intimate scale affords its future residents a private living experience, while also offering the luxury of convenience with a full-service amenities package. Residents will have access to doorman and concierge services, a fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment, a landscaped roof deck with seating, a storage room and bike storage.
